Comparing your options? Here's an honest one.
Every alternative to a purpose-built platform has the same problem: too slow, too generic, or too unproven. Here's where we actually stand.
Smartek vs. the alternatives
Not a sales comparison chart — just the honest tradeoffs between the paths available to you.
| Smartek | Legacy / manual process | Generic enterprise software | Build it yourself | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Time to live | Weeks, not years — already-working software | Already the status quo — doesn't get faster on its own | 12–18+ months typical implementation | 12+ months, plus ongoing maintenance |
| Built for insurance | Purpose-built for underwriting and broker operations | Whatever's grown up around it, unstructured | Retrofitted from a generic workflow tool | Entirely dependent on your team's insurance knowledge |
| Proof it works | Live in production today — 5,000+ risks managed | N/A — this is usually the reason to look elsewhere | Vendor case studies, rarely insurance-specific | Unproven until it's finished |
| How you pay | SaaS subscription or in-house deployment — your choice | Ongoing manual labour cost, hard to see | Large upfront licence plus implementation fees | Full engineering team cost, indefinitely |
What you're probably wondering
Isn't Smartek a new company?
Yes — but the platform isn't new. Smartek InsureX and Smartek Takaful were built and proven inside a live reinsurance and Takaful business before Smartek existed as a separate company. You're not our first user, even if you'd be our first paying customer.
How do I know the case study is real if the company isn't named?
Fair question. We can arrange a direct reference conversation, or simply show you the live system in a demo — the numbers on this site are exactly what you'd see.
What if I outgrow you, or Smartek doesn't work out?
In-house deployment means the platform can run entirely within your own infrastructure — you're never dependent on us staying in business to keep operating. We'd rather earn a long relationship than lock you into one.
What's not finished yet?
We'll tell you plainly. Disaster recovery automation, formal support SLAs, and a couple of product lines are on our roadmap, not live today — ask us directly and we'll give you a straight answer, not a sales one.

Most demos show you a concept. Ours shows you something already running.
